Congratulations to Division of Learning and Teaching staff who have won Charles Sturt Excellence Awards for 2019 – Dawn Calvert (Manager, Systems Development, Learning Technologies Unit), Jade Flynn, Barb Hill and Melinda Lewis (Gulaay, DLT).
The awards will be presented on Foundation Day, Wednesday 17 July.
Dawn Calvert was Project Manager on the Subject Outline Project Team that won a Strong University award.
The Subject Outline Project Team was responsible for design, development and implementation of a new tool to replace the Mandatory Subject Information (MSI) system. The success of this project is a direct result of outstanding cross-unit collaboration and willingness of all team members to embrace new ways of working. Despite many challenges, every team member committed to learning and applying the new agile@CSU and ADKAR Frameworks.
Jade Flynn, Barb Hill and Melinda Lewis are members of the CSU Indigenous Education Strategy & CSU Indigenous Content in Courses Policy teams that also won a Strong University award.
The CSU Indigenous Education Strategy & CSU Indigenous Content in Courses Policy teams are an interdisciplinary partnership group comprised of members from the School of Indigenous Australian Studies, the School of Community Health, Gulaay – the Indigenous Australian Curriculum & Resources Team, and the Bathurst Elders.
The Strong University award recognises the work of the group in facilitating subject and course development to scaffold Indigenous Cultural Competence journeys for allied health and health and rehabilitation students. This importance of this work is that these graduates will have the knowledge, skills and attributes to advocate for the movement to Close the Gap and to individually make a positive difference to health service provision and health outcomes for Indigenous Australian peoples.
